Iya, ternyata yang main Game Online tidak hanya anak-anak atau laki-laki loh, di Game Center dekat kos-an kami ada seorang bapak dan beberapa anak gadis yang bisa menghabiskan waktu berjam-jam untuk bermain Online Game. Hmm… Demam Game Online rupanya menjangkiti setiap lapisan.

Dalam komunitas mahasiswa yang sekampung dengan saya saja, belasan orang bahkan selama hampir setahun lebih menghabiskan waktu “nogkrong” di Game Center hanya untuk memuaskan “nafsu” bermain Game Online. Yang lebih parah lagi ada yang sampai nginep di Game Center. Buset dah.. Parah bener candu Game Online. Dan sepertinya candu ini masih akan terus berkembang pesat seiring makin membanjirnya Game Online Terbaru di dunia.

Dari data yang saya peroleh, jumlah penggemar game online terus meningkat selama setahun terakhir ini. Di USA saja jumlahnya meningkat 22% dibandingkan tahun lalu yaitu sebanyak 87 juta orang pada bulan Mei 2009. comScore menulis bahwa game online paling popular adalah Yahoo Games dengan 19,4 juta orang pengunjung (naik 6% dari tahun lalu). Lalu diikuti oleh EA Online Games dengan 18 juta pengunjung (naik 34% dibanding tahun lalu). Sementara itu Nickelodeon Casual Games memiliki 14,8 juta pengunjung, dan WildTangent Network dengan 13,8 juta pengunjung.

Liat kan? Tren Game Online sepertinya akan terus meningkat. Saya jadi ingat sebuah ayat dari bible yang berbunyi :

“Bersukarialah, hai pemuda, dalam kemudaanmu, biarlah hatimu bersuka pada masa mudamu, dan turutilah keinginan hatimu dan pandanglah matamu, tetapi ketahuilah bahwa karena segala hal ini Allah akan membawa engkau ke pengadilan!” Pkh 11:9

Brrr….seram juga ayatnya. Sebagai seorang pemuda kita dibebaskan untuk melakukan apa saja yang kita inginkan dalam hidup ini, tapi rupanya ada pengadilan yang siap mengadili setiap perbuatan kita. Tidak ada salahnya menjadi penggemar Online Game, hanya saja jika hal tersebut membuang waktu kita dengan percuma tanpa kita dapat berkarya dan menjadi berkat bagi sekitar kita, lalu apa gunanya. Kecanduan Game Online pelan-pelan akan membunuh kepribadian kita sebagai anak-anak Allah yang dituntut berperan aktif sebagai saksi di dunia. Kita mulai lupa dengan tanggung jawab kita, tugas kita, kesehatan, masa depan dan lain sebagainya. Kalau suatu saat Tuhan panggil, kita jadi ga sempat berkarya bagi-Nya dong. Kan kasihan. Kok jadi ceramah sih. Ya maap.
